Black Philanthropy Month Presents Black Men and Boys Twitter Chat #BPM2013

In an effort to continue the national dialogue on black men and boys, Black Philanthropy Month 2013 architects African Women’s Development Fund USA@AWDFUSA, BlackGivesBack.com @BlkGivesBack, Community Investment Network@communitynetwrk and the Giving Back Project@ValaidaF along with BMAFunders.org@BMAfunders, are hosting a Twitter TweetUp on Tuesday, August 20th from 2-3pm EST.

Co-hosts for the TweetUp are Tonya Allen, CEO, The Skillman Foundation @allen_tonya and Shawn Dove, Manager, Open Society Foundations’ Campaign for Black Male Achievement @dovesoars.

Among the topics of discussion are:
  • Share one way philanthropy can move the needle to improve outcomes for black men and boys.
  • How is philanthropy making a difference for black males in your community?
  • Black men and boys is a hot topic now. How do we leverage this momentum for real change?
  • Any advice for philanthropists who want to engage in the black male achievement field?
  • What resources related to black male achievement have you found helpful?
